The Interlopers - Saki

This is a very interesting with a thrilling ending.

This story talks about Ulrich and Georg two members of a feud whose families had been enemies for 3 generations, and even though they were neighbors the haven't been able to solve their problems.
One day they were both on the forest looking for each other. When they were face to face a they heard a noise and suddenly they were trapped under tree branches.
Even under the branches they were with the disire to kill each other.
After some time trying to escape, they noticed they were trapped and couldn't to anything about it.
So Ulrich drank a little bit of his wine and offered some to Georg but he didn't accepted it. Later another kind thing came out of Ulrich's mouth, he said that if his people came first, George will be saved first, this started a friendship between them.
They tried screaming both at the same time, but the heard no response.
After some time, they heard footsteps, they thought Ulrich people had arrived to saved them but he noticed, those were no people, they were wolves!
The story ends here, and i liked it because they hated each other without reason, their family problems were not his problems anymore so the only thing they needed is to spend some time together so the could stop the problems that were keeping these two great friends separated

The Californian's Tale by Mark Twain

This story takes place in California in the aftermath of the 1849 Goldrush, and its about a character who is also the narrator, that he is walking on the zones where all the old abandoned cabins are and suddenly to his surprise he finds one on good conditions with people living on it.                                                                The owner of the cabin, Henry gives him a warm welcome, and the main character is pleased and happy of staying there.  Henry explains that the cabin was decorated by his wife who was returning the next saturday.                                                                  Even though the main character sometimes tries to leave the cabin, Henry convinces him to stay until saturday to receive his wife. When saturday arrived Henry, three of his friends and the main character were waiting for her, but when it gets late the three friends put Henry to sleep for him to suffer no more and explain the main character that his wife had been dead for 19 years.                                                                   I really liked this story because i did not expected the ending and it was impressive. The story was well written and it kept you interested.                                  

What is Literature?

For me, literature is something amazing; because I think that the author, as he writes, he leaves a part of his soul on the book, something that helps the reader feel what the author felt.
Something great about literature is that everyone can be an author, you just have to imagine a theme, characters and everything a book needs and you will be on your way to finish your first book.
No one can say they hate literature, because there are so many different types of novels, book or stories that sooner or later you will find on genre that you identify a lot with and enjoy reading it..
